This helped me organize all the important things my family would need to know—bank accounts, insurance, phone and email access, bills, my will, and even the kind of service I’d want. It feels good knowing everything is finally in one place.

Questions before you buy

What’s inside?

45 pages in four sections, one for each weekend: People and documents; Money and insurance; Home, digital life, and health; and Wishes and the conversation.

It also includes a note for your family with a plan for their first 48 hours, short scripts for talking with your spouse, adult children, or aging parents, and a yearly review log to keep it current.

Why not just make my own list?

You could. The hard part isn’t writing things down, it’s knowing what to include. The binder tells you what to gather and in what order, including things people often forget, like legacy contacts for online accounts, which bills pay themselves, subscriptions to cancel, and where the water shutoff is.

It also includes what a list can’t: a note for your family with a plan for their first 48 hours, and scripts for starting the conversation. Each weekend takes about two to three hours.

Is this a physical binder?

No, it’s a digital download you can type into or print. The fillable PDF works in Chrome, Edge, Safari, Preview, or the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, and on a phone or tablet you can use the Acrobat Reader app. You also get a print-ready blank version for writing by hand.

For a paper binder, print it on letter-size paper and put it in a 1.5-inch three-ring binder.

How do I get it after I buy?

Right after checkout, you’ll see a download link on your order confirmation page, and we’ll email the same link to the address you entered. It’s a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

Don’t see the email? Check your spam or promotions folder, or write to us at info@justsoyouknow.com.

Is my information private?

Yes. You fill it in on your own device, and nothing you type is sent to us or stored online.

The binder also includes a page on keeping it safe, like locking the printed copy in a fire-resistant safe and keeping the file in a password manager or on an encrypted drive.

Is this a legal document?

No. It’s an organizer, not a will, trust, or power of attorney, and it isn’t legal advice. It records whether those documents exist, where they’re kept, and who prepared them.

If you’re missing one, the binder points you to an estate-planning attorney who can help.

Who is it for?

Anyone whose family would need to step in for them: parents of young kids, couples, single adults, and adult children helping their parents get organized. You can print as many copies as your own family needs, so you and your spouse can each fill one in.
